Welcome to another installant of our Best of Vintage Manchester 2012 winners showcase!
Sugar Junction Tearoomsf is a small family business run by Mother Sue and Daughter Cheryl. Although the Tearoom has only been open since Febuary 2011, Sugar Junction as a company has been running for four years. The company started out as a outside events company specialising in weddings founded by Mum Sue, over the years she had collected a lot of china and thought she was best to put it to some good use, therefore started Sugar Junction. After a few years Cheryl decided she would like to get involved, so over a big slice of cake and a cup of tea the idea of Sugar Junction Tearooms was born.
It is easy to think that Sugar Junction is a vintage themed Tearoom but according to Sue and Cheryl it’s just what they love. The obsession with anything vintage had been a common interest along with their other shared love – baking.
The baking craze stems from all the cakes Sue’s Gran used to make and the recipe’s that have been handed down from her make up most of the staple cakes, including lots of their best sellers, which you will find on the counter at Sugar Junction.
Cheryl and Sue have had their moments working together and having such a close relationship. But they also thrive working together as they are also good friends.
Loyal customers and the team who work at Sugar Junction are the two best things about their job. Most of what Sugar Junction have achieved is through word of mouth and social media- and future plans for Sugar Junction are to keep doing what we are doing and to constantly come up with new and exciting events for our customers to enjoy. The priority is that everyday their customers have an amazing experience, from the home made food to the freshly baked cake, and that they always receive a warm welcome along with a smile from our girls.
Sugar Junction have held a spot within the top 5 restaurants in Manchester on Trip Advisor for over five months to date, and they love reading the reviews on there, which spurs them on to keep their customers happy and standards up.
