Winner Profile: J’adore Vintage Clothing

Starting a new series showcasing the Best of Vintage Manchester 2012 winners, first up is J’adore Vintage.

J’adore is the brainchild of Sam and was started nearly two years ago. She began the business simply from her love of fashion and obsession with vintage clothes in particular, always dreaming of opening a vintage store.

After spending 6 months travelling round the USA and visiting every vintage store she could, deciding on her return to just go for it and J’adore Vintage (name says it all) was born! Sam’s favourite era of vintage changes all the time, right now she’s just a little obsessed with 70’s and 80’s fashion.

Sam’s favourite parts of the job are regular photo-shoots and fashion shows she plans with her sister, styling different looks have also led to her start working as a wardrobe stylist working on various shoots with talented photographers and models.

Buying new stock and shopping trip also feature highly on the list! Sam and sister Jesse also do all hair and make-up on photo-shoots which they both love.  The reaction of a customer when they find something they fall in love with is also a perk of the job.

There are big plans for the future of J’adore. Sam is currently looking into a couple of potential spots to open a store in the Manchester area and is also pursuing her work as a stylist, fashion show organiser and make-up artist.

Other accolades bestowed on J’adore are, in 2011 they won a ’10 of the Best’ award for the best Vintage Retailer from the Manchester Fashion Network. And the have also featured in various magazines and newspapers including Vogue and Glamour.
