As you know I have a bit of a thing for old things. Objects with stories, history and character.
Having said that I’m a very practical person, and some old things just don’t work as well as the new versions right?
I do love modern technology and the convenience of it. Dishwashers are a great example as are smartphones- I just wouldn’t be without them now. I count myself as lucky not to have to wash the pots and not to have to worry about how my friends and family are.
So when I discovered VQ and their “Sound & Style” ethos I was intrigued. This is a brand that is female focused, British designed and made, and are filling the gap in the predominately male orientated electronics market.
Ever since I was little I’ve questioned why everything (in electronics shops) has to be black or silver- have you?
There are more design led electronics on the market now than say five years ago, and VQ have been one of the pioneers of this change. Appealing to women due to the unique way the VQ products look and the fact there is such a wide choice of colours to choose from.
VQ are embracing their female side and by naming each model of VQ radio after female icons they are celebrating womanhood.
In the end I went for the mustard as I’ve a few things in the living room in Mustard and I envisage it might keep me company at my desk come sewing area I’m working on in there.
These radios aren’t just a pretty face though; There is a rotating display, so you can have it landscape or portrait. You can listen to DAB, DAB+ and FM Radio reception AND you can listen to your own music via Bluetooth, NFC or your more traditional cable attachments. Its even got a headphone jack and a USB charging port!
