Wearing Boden on the Roof

Just Recently I was invited to the Co-operative head office in Manchester.

It’s a stunning building and I’ve wanted to visit since watching it being built in 2013.

I was invited to take part in a blogger panel discussion all about how bloggers work with brands, so I wanted to wear something that was perhaps a little smarter than I would normally but still inhabited my personality and style.

Seeing as it was late July I thought it perfect timing to wear a Boden dress I got in last years sale. It would be its first outing and the ideal representation of my love for the vintage look with its novelty holiday print.

Boden does these novelty prints so well and tends to have at least one vintage style each season, these novelty prints were often seen in the 1950s. Find similar on the Boden website

Hang on a minute though, the day of me going to Co-Op their were clouds in the sky virtually bulging with rain. My pretty Boden number would need a little help.So out came the footless tights/leggings, cowboy boots and denim jacket.

With the essential, much loved Furla umbrella which I’ve had for ages after buying it in Milan years ago. I’m not sure if loving an umbrella is normal but this one is pretty in pink with a gold handle, and hey, being from Manchester umbrellas are a necessary part of life so they might as well be beautiful.

I’m looking rather excited here, I think because the rain had stopped!

I must share with you this cute handbag too, it’s from Monsoon in their summer sale- but in the kids section. I was looking for a cross body bag that had some pattern in it and for £6 this fit the bill perfectly. I’ll be checking the accessories for kids more often from now on.So I’m wearing- Dress by Boden (last summer), Denim Jacket by Reiss years ago, Handbag by Monsoon Girl, seamless leggings New Look Tall, cowboy boots from the good old US of A about 7 years ago and Umbrella by Furla and a short sleeved cardi from Dorothy Perkins.

I had a really wonderful morning, and the cooperative seems like a great place to work. I was treated to a tour and lunch too in their restaurant- the food was excellent as I’m sure you’d imagine. They are obviously a huge company but seem like they have their ethics in the right place. I came away feeling impressed anyway.

Do you shop at Co-Op? I love their accidentally vegan doughnuts!!
