Vintage Village November

Well I was really looking forward to November’s Vintage Village as I hadn’t been for a couple of months and was really missing my fix.

I was excited as I’d been tweeting the previous evening  and ended up being promised a prize from Donald & Miss June Vintage, as I had become their 100th follower on Twitter.

They awarded me, after I said the code words of, “I am your 100th follower and I claim my prize!“, with a pair of their lovely vinyl dishes- perfect for putting Christmas sweeties in. One for me and one for the Mr.

After catching up with my mum and dad- it was their first time at the fair it became clear this edition of the fair was all about the men. As both my Dad and my husband got kitted out at Expressions Vintage Clothing, ran by a lovely couple.

My lovely Dad- tweed jacket £30- all other items, models own!
And here is my very serious looking husband in his coat- £35 for Italian wool, a really thick and heavy coat. We’ve hunted around for a coat for him for ages as he’s very broad shouldered and at this stall he had a choice of coats that fitted- result!
It was actually great to see so much menswear on one stall, along with a variety if sizes. More please! We spent so long at this stall, chatting with my parents and scoffing the sausages from the Babushka van that we ran out of time to have a proper browse around.
I also had an appointment with Pamper & Pose  and Jude Gidney (who photographed my wedding) that afternoon, but more of that soon!
Bye for now!

Yes, I agree absolutely that more vintage menswear is needed! I’ve been urging our stallies to source more of it for ages, but the plain fact is that vintage women’s wear survives in much greater quantities because women have always tended to buy more clothes than men (who knew, eh?!)

But your dad and husband did awfully well regardless, and look fabulous in their new garms. Expressions is a great vintage business with a fantastic selection of prime vintage menswear. They’ll be back next month too 🙂
