Vintage lace cupcake tutorial

You can achieve a lace effect on a Cupcake quite easy and cheaply. Denise from the Cupcake Empire gives us some tips on how to do it. Its an ideal look for vintage decorative cupcakes, great for brides on a budget!

Using a cookie cutter or other circle shape cut your sugarpaste into the right size for the top of your cupcake.

Now you have your circle place a piece of lace (about 20p) over it and press firmly with a flat object (book maybe) I used one of my embossing mats (on its smooth side) to do this, any crafters out there could use an acrylic block.

Remove your lace and if the circle gone out of shape just re-shape again.

Denise then uses a tool that forms domes, if you don’t have one- I know I don’t, you can use anything to hand even bubble wrap to form a ball shape or have it as a ‘flat’ cupcake.

Here are how they look when coloured too! Denise used a decorating sprays from Dr Oetker.

Enjoy and have fun making vintage style lace Cupcakes
