Vintage Interiors at MOSI

I’ve been very sporadic in posting recently which I apologise for, I’ve had some health problems recently which I’ll talk about in due course but not just yet.

Anyway I wanted to tell you about the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester, I’ve been loads of times, but it is so big that you can never get around it in one visit. Today, with the family, we stumbled on another part of the museum we hadn’t been to before- the history of electricity. There were loads of interesting parts to the vast exhibitions which covers four floors.

But for me standing out a mile, and which really put a smile on my face, were these fantastic recreations of kitchens and living rooms of the 1930’s-1950’s illustrating the huge change in modern appliances and the difference those twenty years made in the lives of households across the country.

You werent allowed to step inside but I was desperate to! Would have loved to have been able to get a little closer, the fabrics, the colours schemes, the kitchen units Oh My!

Enjoy! And if you are anywhere near Manchester go to MOSI as its a fantastic museum!

Love the exhibit. Must pay a visit myself. Very cool. Some of the furnishings remind me of when I was little.

Have taken a while to say hi and wave….a fellow local here. Love your blog btw.
