The winner of the 2012 Vintage Manchester award for Best Vintage Hair/Beauty was Bethany Jane Davies and her Vintage Beauty Parlour, whom you can find popping up at all sorts of vintage event across the country.
On Wednesday 12th December, Bethany will be launching her 2013 pinup calendar with the starlets from The Vintage Beauty Parlour’s taking to The Wham Whim Café’s stage! Bethany teamed up with vintage styling company Happy Heritage to share their vintage expertise creating a beautiful pin-up calendar starring sirens from the burlesque community.
For one night only, this special festive event will showcase unique performances from legendary burlesque acts such as Frankie Wilde and ‘swing singing showgirl’ Bexi Owen! Miss Decadent December herself, our awards compare, Kiki DeVille will also be taking to the stage in her own unique style and will treat guests to some old school Christmas classics.
Bethany and her photographer Madame Boudoir wanted to create a calendar that would ‘showcase the beauty and style from by-gone eras of the roaring twenties through to the swinging sixties.’ Bethany also commented that the calendar gave her ‘an excellent opportunity to highlight the sometimes forgotten era’s such as the uber elegant 1930s’.
Tickets to ‘Meet the Calendar Girls’ are priced at £10 and include a copy of the calendar (RRP £10) and a free festive tipple. The Vintage Beauty Parlour will be giving away a free vintage make-over to the best dressed lady as we as exclusive discounts off styling appointments booked on the night.
