Vicarage Gardens Carrington

Where I live at the moment isn’t my “forever home”. Its a long story but it was the answer to a tricky situation at the time and we moved here from an apartment in city centre Manchester.

There are lots of bad points about living here, I can could reel them all off in a matter of minutes, but I don’t really want to dwell on the negative, rather focus on the positive, and that is I recently found
this amazingly beautiful place five minutes away from my house.

The Vicarage Botanical Gardens in Carrington, Manchester. It doesn’t look like much from the outside as its kind of in the middle of a oil refinery and industrial estate, but was there years before them both. Situated on the very edge of Manchester bordering Warrington really. Its one of those places you have to go and explore to really appreciate.

I’ve been passing it for about two years and never gone until this week, after I’d read about it in  a Creative Tourist booklet I was given at Blogcamp.

Its great for taking children to, a small playground and a variety of animals to make friends with! Its also inexpensive, which for something involving the kids can be a rare thing!

Fab pics – apart from the last one. Goats are evil. Fact!

Haha! I think his name was Wilf, he seemed harmless enough!

    Thanks for the comments gals!

I’m definitely not in my ‘forever area’ either, Croydon and S. London have a lot of problems, however we do have a relatively large amount of green space, and I really do appreciate it. The gardens look lovely – I do like a secret walkway – and I don’t mind goats either!

Wow, looks beautiful! Just moved to Manchester and got a job at a nearby school so will be making an effort to check it out! Thanks!
