Thrifty Thursday- Man’s Shirt into Girls dress

So I’ve done some sewing and actually finished a project…. I know, I’m as shocked as you are πŸ˜‰

I made a lovely button down dress from one of my brother’s old surf shirts. I’ve seen many a tutorial on this type of project on the internet. This one by Dana Made It is probably one of the best as I found it easy to follow and easy to adapt.

I made an easier version, but followed the same principles, I lay a dress that was slightly too big for my daughter on top of the shirt to give me the shape…

Kept the buttons at the front and then cut!

Hell- I even made my own bias binding!

What a great job turning an adult shirt into a super cute dress – she looks fab.

And congrats on making your own bias binding, that’s certainly some dedication! πŸ˜€
