Stockport’s Vintage Village fair will soon be launching another event, right in the heart of Manchester.
As ITV moves to its new home in Salford’s Media City, it leaves behind a 16 acre site on Quay Street, Manchester that is positively loaded with cultural history – the Old Granada Studios. This is the location of the iconic Coronation Street set, and a whole hive of studios which have hosted luminous stars from the Beatles to, er, Jeremy Kyle!
It is going to be re-developed in some form – sometime – but for the immediate future it will be sympathetically (and very rapidly!) spruced up, and creatively employed as the venue for various exciting markets and events, including the multi-award-winning Vintage Village fair.
Their launch event is on Sunday 27th April, 11.00am to 5.00pm in the Workshop. It’s just around the corner from Coronation Street.
Expect to find a top quality array of vintage traders offering everything from headscarves to hat stands, teapots to tiaras, with plenty to detain the gentlemen visitors too. Entertainment will be supplied by those stars of spinning shellac, It’s a Wind Up Vintage 78 DJs.
