I recently became a member of a Facebook group call Glitz & Pieces, which I’d heard about on Twitter as I follow the lovely Miss Matilda– the genius behind Able Grable vintage dresses.
Glitz & Pieces is a place where you can sell or swap you vintage or glamorous goodies. We all have things we’ve bought on a whim and its not as if you can return vintage to the shop- it just doesn’t work like that.
I you fancy a bit of swapping or selling, or even buying, you can request to join the group- I think there is a cap at 300 members and we are at 270 at the moment.
Any how- I managed to bag myself a Swirl dress, which was being sold by the luscious Lisa from SnoodleBug Vintage. And honestly I don’t know why its taken me so long!! Actually I do- they tend to be hard to get hold of and therefore on the expensive side.
|A bargain at £25|
Using the guide at Vintage Fashion Guild,
which also tells you more about the Swirl dresses, I’ve dated this dress using the label, as being from the 1950’s. I absolutely love it!
I bought it at what I thought was the end of summer and didn’t think there’d be a chance I’d wear it until next year. But with the recent outrageously hot weather- it was perfect!
I’m a big fan of dresses in general, but this one is light, cool and really easy to wear. I didn’t feel self conscious at all- you know that feeling when parts of a dress are clinging to lumps and bumps, or even worse, starts riding up when you walk! Well you don’t get that with a Swirl as it just skims over and flatters!
That is it now- all I want to wear is Swirl Swirl Swirl!!
PS- Sorry for delay in posting lots gone on the past few days! x
