Star Wars Wallpaper

As you may have noticed I’m a big fan of wallpaper.

I’ve actually got a drawer full of wallpaper ready for any wallpaper emergency that may come up… I’m not sure that’s normal, but I guess it comes from loving paper and colour and my arty background.

In order to celebrate wallpaper, Graham & Brown have created National Wallpaper Week from 5th- 11th October and they asked me to get involved. Each day is slightly themed and surprise, surprise I went for the Nostalgic theme which is today (Thursday).

I couldn’t help but choose something a bit different though, I went for this Star Wars cartoon style wallpaper.star wars wallpaper

I love Star Wars (the original three films obviously) and it was a big part of my childhood. Luckily for me we’ve managed to get eldest hooked on Star Wars too, and we are all really excited about the new film coming out this Christmas.

I had to hide this Storm trooper and Yoda figure in the fridge recently as I used them as cake toppers for her birthday cake… They look quite at home dont they!

Anyway the Star Wars imagery in the wallpaper is taken directly from the comic books of the 1970s, these were published by Marvel until 1986. Although its not quite the same as having Han Solo on the wall, its as close as I’m going to get.star wars wallpaper cartoon

So where am I going to put it?

Well seeing as eldest is a huge Star Wars fan it’s going to go in her room, but because her room is already decorated I’ll be using it in more of a crafty way. We’ve recently had some fitted storage added to her bedroom, so I’ll be using this paper to line the drawers. Although she hasn’t seen it yet and I’ve a feeling she might want a change from her current flamingo wall… We shall see.

The wallpaper has had a slight delay due to the popularity of this design so I actually haven’t got my mitts on it yet, but for £10 per roll I’m not surprised! I think that is a great price for something that is tapping into the current mood and trend for all Star Wars stuff.

There are so many things you can do with wallpaper too, wallpapering furniture, the back of bookcases, stairs, floors and even with smaller pieces covering storage boxes and gift bags.

Have you used wallpaper in an alternative way before? What did you create? Leave a comment a tell me what you did and how it turned out.
