I recently had my very first facial, courtesy of Groupon. The reason its my first is because my skin is so annoyingly sensitive, that I’d rather go with out than risk a reaction. Thankfully the lady at Enhance Beauty Clinic in Sale suggested using Dermalogica Ultra Calming products in the facial. Which, thankfully and impressively, didn’t cause a reaction.
According to the deal I saved 68% , the deal was a 75 Minute Decléor Massage and Facial for £27. The process of booking was via the clinics website, entering the Groupon Coupon numbers, I had to give three dates that would work for me. They then would get in touch to arrange a time for the available date. As it was I missed the call the clinic made to my mobile, they left a message saying my first chosen date was available and I could choose any time from 10am. So I rang them back and left a message on their machine that 10am would be perfect on the date chosen.
The thing is I never got a return call confirming either way, so I just had to assume that 10am was when my appointment was. I obviously also couldn’t explain that I had super sensitive skin, although I did say it on the voicemail I left them.
So the day I arrived, I found the clinic and went in and there was no one around! I just sat down in the waiting area and after about five minutes (which felt longer) someone came out and asked for my appointment details. Luckily I was all booked in. The actual treatment itself was lovely and the atmosphere in the treatment room was very relaxing, luckily there was the option to change to Dermalogica as I didn’t realise all Decleor products have essential oils in them and there wouldn’t be anything suitable, something that would have been cleared up earlier had I actually spoken to the clinic on the phone.
Overall the treatment was really relaxing and opened my eyes up to new products that agree with my temperamental skin, the booking method and lack of receptionist on arrival leave a lot to be desired though and doesn’t give a professional feel to the clinic. At the end of the treatment I was asked for my Groupon voucher again, which I should have printed out really- but thought as I’d already given the details to them I wouldn’t need to again. As it was I had to go home and email them the details of the voucher. Again not the most professional way of doing things.
This could be a great clinic if the niggles above were sorted as the actual treatments and therapists were great.
