A Secret Garden in Cheshire

I just have to share one of the best local places I know Willowpool Garden Centre.

Anyone who knows me, or those that follow me on Twitter, will know I’m not the most green fingered person and I have a habit of accidently
killing plants- something which I’m trying to rectify! So a garden centre isn’t really the kind of place I usually hang out.

But this ticks all my boxes of somewhere fabulous!

It has quirky surroundings, vintage and antique bits, higgledy-piggledy pathways, beautiful gazebos, a family of mallard ducks, a grumpy tabby cat, ornate statues, reclaimed fire surrounds and architecture and one of the UK’s top ten tea rooms- as voted for by reader of Period Living & Traditional Homes magazine.

The tea room itself, whose menu is amazing, is known for its deserts- if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll love this place- they are huge!
Outside the tea rooms there are thatched, heated gazebos, tables in Victorian fairground stalls and you could even eat in an upturned four poster bed!

This is all ten minutes away from Manchester Airport near Lymm, and they are open seven days a week. There are loads of amazing things you can buy here- other than plants!! These pictures are only some of the unique items you can find at Willowpool!
This was an illumination at Blackpool in 1998! This place is really worth the day trip out! You never know what you might find!

Ah this isn’t too far from me! Well, about 40 minutes away-ish. I must visit just for the amazing sounding tea room. Have you ever been to Dagfields or Lady Heyes in Cheshire? I love them both for cheap antique or second hand furniture.

I love it here, it is my favourite tea rooms in the whole world and i find it really romantic togged up in my thermals drinking tea from mismatched china in a gazebo! we often go in February and October for our birthdays, it is heaven. We have been going for years and have also purchased some excellent pieces from the yard!!
