Outfit post 1920’s

I recently was invited to attend the launch of a new Vintage Travelling Party service on behalf of VintageManchester.com and the theme was “Speakeasy”. As I’m more of a 1940’s to early 1960’s girl I was struggling to figure out what to wear as I dont really have anything from that era, and I didn’t have time to go shopping.

Then a brainwave hit me and I decided to go a bit androgynous in a tux! A mix of Marlene Dietrich and a Yves San Laurent model I was hoping for…..

Amazing YSL tux and iconic photography by Helmut Newton
 And my eBay version!
As usual I didn’t get time to do a full length shot before I went out- but you get the idea don’t you? Photography by Katy Lunsford
And here’s my handmade 1920’s inspired headdress!
You can see the full lowdown on the event here at Vintage Manchester.

PS- Don’t forget to enter the giveaway!

I do like an androgynous Marlene Deitrich look. I was lucky enough to once visit an exhibition of her actual dresses in Germany, wow, she was tiny.
