Mrs M Vintage in Urmston

Today I want to tell you about a great vintage shop in Urmston, Manchester.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for months now, so apologies but here it is. Its worth the wait!

Mrs M Vintage has been in Urmston for nearly two years now. Yes that’s right- just as I moved away from the Trafford area- typical! All is forgiven though as this vintage shop is a real treasure trove.

When I ran I had some lovely contributors- Charlie covered this shop for me and wrote about it here. But I’ve been meaning to visit for such a while.aladins cave vintage shop display shelves

Mrs M Vintage has the perfect mix of vintage items, and the owner Helen,  has such a good eye.

Expect to find kitchenettes and coffee tables from the fifties and sixties, to signage from old buildings in Blackpool, to false legs and other old hospital items. As well as kitsch lamps and seventies sideboards.

There’s vintage toys and dolls, sewing and haberdashery bits and bobs, books, crockery, artwork and LOADS of other stuff! Your eyes will be on stalks when you visit this place- mine were.yellow kitchenette larder vintage shop window

Its quite a small shop but there’s loads inside and if there’s something in particular you are after I bet Helen could source it for you, so its worth asking.

The Mrs M Vintage Facebook page is very active and Helen often posts new stock on the page- sometimes it sells within a couple of hours of being online, check it out here.bohemian lamp and side table

Urmston and Flixton have had a hard time in recent years with the Trafford centre being so close but I think Ms M Vintage is proving that independents do have a place within the retail world, the key is to be different enough from everything in the local area. And this vintage shop is certainly that.
