Well as it is Maternity Monday and as I type Kate Middleton aka the Duchess of Cambridge has gone into hospital in the early stages of labour, I couldn’t not include her in my Maternity Monday post…
Speculation has been rife since the start of July of when Kate is due and when she’ll go into labour. The world media set up camp outside the hospital weeks ago.
I don’t know about you but talk about pressure! Not to mention privacy or being able to have time to adjust gradually to your new baby before showing him or her off to friends and family- or in this case the world!
I’ve never been much of a Royalist- but like many people I do really like Kate and wish her all the best in her labour. There are so many things that can happen during this time but she will have the best team at her disposal.
What really make me laugh though, is that so much of the media are assuming baby will arrive today…. Some of my friends had three and a half days labours that ended in emergency caesarean section. Not me though. Mine was a three hour forty minute whirlwind including me getting the midwife in a headlock- in a non violent way of course…
But my point being is that, yes- it might be today, but actually it could be midweek when baby arrives.
Personally the one thing I’d love to ask Kate is how she’s kept her ankles from swelling up! I mean look at this picture from her penultimate public appearance at around eight months pregnant, whatever she’s having can I have the same please?
