Latest News on the Vintage Manchester Awards!

Welcome to an update of what is happening at the Vintage Manchester Awards on Wednesday 17th October.

The evening is set to be a very glamorous soriee and we are thrilled to formally announce we now have two sponsers to ensure we have an amazing evening.

The first is brand new rum company, Old J Rum – “Old J” has been created in honour of an unlikely mixologist, an Admiral Edward Vernon, whom  in 1740  enforced a reduction in the strength of the British Navy’s rum ration. When his men complained, Vernon suggested the addition of limes and sugar to make the drink more enjoyable. He became known as  s “Old Grog”. “Old J” however brings Vernon´s concept into the 21st Century by using the finest Caribbean Rum combined with a Secret Blend of Spices, Sugar, Vanilla and Persian Lime. Our second sponsor is vintage outside catering company, Pin-Ups in Pinnies. Baking never looked so good, with these 1950’s inspired Pin-Up waitresses serving free boozy cupcakes to our glamourous guests. Follow the PinUps on Twitter here @PinUpsinPinnies

So that’s scrumptious cakes for guests and a complimentary rum based cocktail, shaken ‘ n stirred by Manchester’s best bar tenders at our speakeasy style venue Matt & Phreds who will be offering special deals on drinks and food long into the night with happy hours of 2-4-1 drink offers and midnight pizzas.

The ‘Hollywood Golden-Age’ theme will be brought to life with vintage entertainment line up including Marilyn Monroe tribute act, Susie Sequin and old-school jazz singer, Kiki DeVille.

Infamous Charleston dancer, Antony Padgett will be rocking up in style in his vintage 1929 Aston Martin that guests can use for fabulous photo opportunities. Antony will also be doing a reading from his brand new book, ‘The Great Gatsby Revisited’. The event is being captured by vintage inspired photography duo ‘Dotmoxee’, who will be snapping each guest as they make their way through the venue’s red carpet entrance.
