Ideas for the Ultimate Christmas Party

As the party season creeps ever closer, today I’m going to share with you some fun ideas for throwing a brilliant Christmas party.

I’ve been gathering party inspiration on my Party Themes & Decor board on Pinterest and whether it’s for Christmas Day, a New Years Eve party or a Boxing Day gathering {or anything in between} I hope you’ll find these inspirational, helpful and interesting too.black and gold party Uber glam from Harpers Bazaar above, simply by using black and gold as the theme. The backdrop here almost looks like a huge roll of black paper with the gold frame painted on, easy… Food for thought eh?

I love this next idea as it can be so easily adapted depending on what sort of party you are having. You could have boozy miniatures as shown or it could be small toys or sweets… Find the tutorial on With Lovely.gin and glitter in a balloon-party-balloons-2If you are hosting a party this Christmas it’s always a great idea to have an activity for your guests to get involved with and perhaps break the ice with people they don’t know. A photobooth or backdrop is a perfect way to preserve the memories of the occasion and have fun at the same time.

I’m going back to the gold theme here, I love gold at the time of year as I think its perfect for any kind of celebrations and brings such warmth into the home. You could go all Gatsby and create a gold fringed photobooth even adding props like hats, flowers and cocktail glasses.

Always make sure your home contents insurance is up to date before hosting any parties… Having something precious broken during the Conga isn’t a great way to start the new year!

This is a great excuse for me to include a photo of Leo here right? I’m purely demonstrating how great a bit of gold fringing is, honest! There’s some more brilliant ideas for backdrops and DIY photobooths here.LEONARDO DiCAPRIO as Jay Gatsby in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ drama “THE GREAT GATSBY,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.Carols are a huge tradition at Christmas, but perhaps you could ramp up the glamour factor and listen to the Rat Pack Christmas CD. I went to see this show a couple of years ago with Rat Pack impersonators (obvs!!) and it was actually really good- I came out feeling really festive!

You could even one step further and do Christmas karaoke!! Not sure if the Rat Pack Christmas songs have been made into a karaoke thing yet but I’m off to investigate!
