My Fifteen Festive Favorites

Are you feeling excited about Christmas yet? It’s hard not to in our house, MR OFS is the biggest fan of Christmas I’ve ever known.

I’ve been tagged to do my Festive Favourites by Charlie of Gin Fuelled Bluestocking.

So here’s how I do Christmas;

Favourite Festive Food-

Always a mince pie and custard. Free from dairy and eggs of course, I’m loving Lidl’s this year.

Favourite Reindeer-

Er have you seen Frozen?! Its got to be Sven!

Favourite Day of Christmas-

Predictably it’s Christmas Day, but I do love Boxing Day too as its the calm after the storm and everyone is more relaxed and enjoying gifts and turkey sandwiches (and hopefully great TV).

Favourite Christmas Song-

I can do better than one song! I love the Phil Spector Chrismas album, yes he’s a rather dodgy character. But this album always makes me feel Christmasy!

Favourite Present-

Its not really a present but I married my husband at Christmas, so this time of year always reminds me of our wedding day.

Favourite Festive Film-

Scrooged! I love Bill Murry and Karen Allen in this.

Favourite Festive Cracker Toy-

I always liked those daft fortune telling fish as a child. Now I like the mini tape measures as they are great for keeping in my handbag for when I’m thrifting.

Favourite Cracker Joke-

What’s black and white, black and white, black and white? A penguin rolling down a hill!

Favourite Christmas Decoration-

We’ve got these flocked reindeer from Paperchase a few years ago, and in the sale in January we bought more! They always stand proudly on our mantelpiece.

Favourite Christmas Candle Scent-

I’m not into scented candles to be honest! I love the smell of the Christmas cake baking though.

Favourite Christmas TV Advert-

This might be weird, but I actually love the adverts that show what is coming on TV at Christmas; Like  the films the channels are showing and any Christmas specials.

Favourite Festive Tradition-

We try and go out for breakfast on Christmas Eve, always a great atmosphere.

Favourite Place to Spend Christmas-

Home! We have my parents over for Christmas Day and its always chaotic but loads of fun.

Favourite Christmas Fact-

Did you know that Jingle Bells was the first song broadcast from space, when Gemini 6 astronauts Tom Stafford and Wally Schirra sang it on December 16, 1965.

Favourite Snowman Accessory-

Got to be a Top Hat! The snowmen of my dreams always wear one!
