Decorating a Halloween Table with Flowers

Hey there! Today I’m getting a little spooky and kooky and taking a look at how you can incorporate flowers into a Halloween themed table setting.

I always think I’d like to throw a big Halloween party, but I never have (yet) as it feels like a bit too much hard work at the moment. I will venture down that road when the girls are a bit older I think.

I still like to have a nod to the fact it’s that spooky time of year and we have lots of quirky, odd things around the house that are quite fitting for a Halloween theme. So it’s just a case of gathering these Addams Family inspired oddities into one place to create a focal point or centerpiece for one area of the home, perhaps a sideboard or a table.

Adding flowers gives a sense of life and texture, but waiting for them to dry out a little so the blooms look almost antique offers a perfect sense of the macabre if you add things like cats, pumpkins or spiders into the mix.black skull table centrepiece floralimage is via The Jungalow

So here is my little Halloween focal point or tableau. The flowers are the Lemon Cello bouquet from Appleyard Flowers and they are a few days old in the photo but they are still so fragrant! I thought they went perfectly in front of this painting I have which happens to be full of those pumpkin colour shades- cream right through to orange. The glass poison bottles are all vintage as is the little brass cat and the vase. The painting is 1950s and is signed and dated but I’ve not been able to find anything out about the artist.flowers halloween pumpkin skull cat addams family

The black skull is a money box from Urban Outfitters from last year, and the Gomez and Morticia Addams figures are salt and pepper shakers (a gift off Mr OFS). The pumpkin we were given by our allotment owner neighbors!

I found this tutorial, on how to make a vase from a skull, which would also make a brilliant Halloween centerpiece at the table.skull flowers halloween decor

Lovely styling! My obsession with skulls, heads and phrenology is still not over. I have a Darth Vader head money box but not a skull one. Mega want!
