Date Night at The Overlook Hotel

No not really the Overlook Hotel from the Shining… But that’s where Stockport Plaza always reminds me of, 1930’s through and through and they’ve just celebrated they’re 80 year anniversary. So despite have the lurgy my husband and I juggled babysitting and bad traffic to get there for a showing of Indiana Jones & The Raiders of the Lost Ark. One of our favourite films.

I think its really important to carve out time with your loved one even if sometimes obstacles can seem insurmountable, what do you do to enable you to have some adult time?

All pictures below are just taken with my phone and aren’t the best as I had the lurgy and it was very cold!

We even had an organist playing famous John Williams film soundtracks before the film, then an information reel from the 1950’s then an intermission- where ice- cream was on sale at the front. Its fair to say we loved it- check out what’s coming on at the Plaza on their website- Stockport Plaza.

What a jolly excursion to the ‘flicks’ – and in such grand surroundings to boot. John Williams is my favourite film composer, his back catalogue is classic film after classic film. I bet the ice cream vendor did a roaring trade, even on a dark October evening. Sounds like you had a real hoot!
