Coffee Table Picks

I get ask a lot about our gorgeous coffee table that we got late last year.

It is a mid century inspired beauty from John Lewis, which we had spotted last autumn when browsing for corner sofas in our local branch. I love this coffee table because of it obvious vintage design influence But I think what truly makes this table great is that it has storage.

I really couldn’t go back to having a coffee table without storage now, its just so handy for whisking stuff away for a quick tidy up. I use it as a home for my laptop charger, some of my books, some of the kids books and perhaps the Sunday papers, when we actually get time to buy/read them that is. Its a rare treat!

I’ve searched around for other coffee tables with storage so you don’t have to… I swear you wont go back!

First up is another Mid Centurey inspired table from Swoon Editions. This one is a rectangular shape, traditional for a coffee table, but has a nifty little drawer and shelf. To store your magazines, TV controls or Lego… coffee table with storage

Next up is this unique hammered, rose gold coffee table from Habitat. This would look great in a bohemian living room. And to be honest, on first looking at this table I assumed the top came off to reveal storage inside… I’m now doubtful it does as the description doesn’t state it, but I believe that it is hollow (I read the assembly instructions) so I suppose you could store/hid stuff underneath it- great for a quick tidy up idea. If you do want one designed for storage- where the top comes off, Habitat do this one too.rose gold coffee table with storage from habitatAnother Mid Century and Scandi inspired table with storage, in this case a shelf, is this one from Dunelm Mill. Pictured is the Oak version but they do one in Walnut too if the vintage look appeals more than the Scandi. Although I like both. They also do one with a similar feel to my John Lewis one- see here, but with a drawer.Do let me know which one is your favorite, does your current coffee table have storage? Storage in the living room is a MUST!! Yours if my fave 🙂

Totally agree on the benefits of having a coffee table where you can hide things away easily! Ours currently has three smallish drawers – I’d love bigger drawers, but suspect they’d only encourage even more fillage. Love the Habitat rose gold/copper hammered table, very striking.

I have a original G Plan coffee table, it was actually the first coffee table I ever bought. I do love it, but its the one thing now that I would like to replace in my living room. I love the Dunelm one, I daren’t look at the website…but I think I need it in my life!

You’re so right about storage in the coffee table, perfect for hiding away all the ugly bits and pieces, and I have so many magazines i need it! x

Your coffee table really is gorgeous and I’m so tempted to get one…. (copy cat!) Do the doors slide nicely and is it as well made as it looks? x

Yes and yes!! I was worried about the doors too but they are very smooth, the girls occasionally play with them (when I’m not looking) so they’ve done plenty of sliding and opening and closing. Worth going to see it in store if you can before spending, just to be sure xx

I haven’t got storage in mine but I have a little box underneath to keep small coasters etc away. I must admit I use my table more for display than functional use. I tend to have side tray tables for guests.

Oh yours is gorgeous, right up my street, I do love the Habitat Copper one but I bet you would be forever cleaning it. WE haven’t been able to have a Coffee table for years now due to Grayson our son, but I am hoping when we move in the summer the room maybe big enough for us to and him still to be safe

Ah I didnt know you were moving! Yes often there needs to ample space around of coffee table for playing etc, our lounge is extended at the back so we try and keep toys at that end

We have a coffee table that has been handed down to us, I love it but I do think it’s time to upgrade to one with a drawer!!

We need a new coffee table as our cats have scratched our one to bits. Lots of awesome ones to choose from here.

Love the John Lewis coffee table and think a coffee table with storage is a must when you have children. Nice to have clear spaces and to be able to hide the junk away 🙂

I don’t have a coffee table! Madness I know, but I love having as much floor space for my boy to play as possible and my house is only quite small. My boyfriend is currently in the hunt for one though so thanks for your ideas x

Great finds. Love the rose gold one in particular. My own coffee table has masses of storage which is great but it does tend to house quite a bit of clutter as a result.
