Hi there and welcome to another instalment of my Christmas Gift Guides for 2014.
Christmas for me is about spending time with the people I love, and especially my two daughters. This list encompasses gift ideas for those cool kids you know, some of whom I’m sure are actually adults…
First up is this Moomin Swim House from cult online kids wear shop Cissy Wears in London. These classic Swedish illustrations and animations, by Tove Jansson, and the characters within, still appeal to children and adults alike.
The Moomins are still going strong and have reached cult status- with their own theme park in Finland- Moomin World.
Or what about this melamine plate for your little Tiger? From Retro Kids– which is an online shop I could actually get lost in- so many good things.
I love melamine for many reasons, including its obvious unbreakable quality but also that it doesn’t chill food like a pot plate does (when you forget to warm the plates in the oven).
I love this secret mirror from Ikea– feed their imaginations this Christmas with a brilliant gift such as this. Princesses and pirates are just the start.
This den making kit includes some unique methods (better than my usual clothes pegs anyway) of creating a den and keeping it in place. My eldest actually received this as one of her birthday gifts and we’ll be trying it out this weekend no doubt. Buy it from Not On The High Street.
I’m always nipping into the boys clothing department of shops for my girls, as often the girls section is far too twee for my liking… Here’s another reason to steal from the boys. This lovely jumper from Tu at Sainsburys– its even got ducks on it… Yet again I need it in my size- a classic Fair Isle look. My girls might have matching jumpers this Christmas day 😉
Join me again tomorrow, where I’ll be helping you select gifts for that vintage loving gent you know.
