A Christmas Bedside with Barker & Stonehouse

Eldest is six now and I think having some Christmas cheer spread throughout the home and into her bedroom is a lovely idea.

In previous years we’ve added a bit of tinsel and fairy lights to her bedroom, but after finding a mini faux Christmas tree in the Paperchase sale in January I’m set on giving her a festive feel to her space.kitchmas tree lego darth vader scandi miniture ornaments

This year we’ve done a lot with M’s bedroom, some of which you’ll have seen already. Some of which I’ve yet to share. But one of the final things we were after was a bedside table. After moving her room around and packing a few things up to make room for building work in there, she’d been using a box as a bedside table until we found THE ONE.

I found this French looking bedside table at Barker & Stonehouse and its perfect for her room in painted white, as there is a lot of white in the space already. It has a really elegant feel to it don’t you think? I love that there’s a small drawer for things she might need in the night like a torch or handkerchief.elegant bedside table for girls room

I find if you have more than one drawer in a bedside table or cabinet that they just tend to get filled with junk, that ends up being forgotten about… Speaking from my own experience obviously!

Anyway this bedside unit also has a small shelf and it is the perfect size to stack these colourful mini suitcases onto. Giving a little bit of extra storage for small items like beads and other crafty paraphernalia.

These suitcases also came in a pastel colour scheme but the brights are definitely more me her.

The decorations on the tree are miniature vintage ones and they really work with the smaller scale of the Christmas tree, there’s even enough room underneath the tree for a couple of presents.kids decor Christmas rooms bedside miniature ideas

Lovely! We also nabbed one of those little Paperchase trees last year. Now in Charlie’s room. And those little suitcases are ace. I’d love those for me!
