Hello readers! I’ve decided to resurrect the mini series I started over on vintagemanchester.com all about great charity shops- Charity Shop Love.
I’m going to start by revisiting one of my favorites Vintage Barnardos on Cheadle High Street. You can see the original post here.
I’m calling it “vintage” Barnardos but the strange thing is there is no mention of it being a specialist vintage shop on the Barnardos website- I think they are missing a trick here as it would only improve its popularity.
I love this shop because of the range of items for sale but a huge draw for me has to be the price- there are things in this shop that if you saw it in a vintage fair or on Etsy they’d be double the price. The aim is clear here- high quality vintage that will sell due to affordable prices- raising money for the charity is the priority.
Anyway this place is purely vintage. The newest things in there date from the 1980s which to me doesn’t feel vintage, probably as I was born in 1980, but is definitely retro at least.
Another great thing about this charity shop is that its open on Sundays from 10-4 this is great if you need a vintage fix and there’s no vintage fairs on, just pop along and you’re sure to find a treasure or two.
