Hello readers! Today I’m sharing a lovely charity shop in Cheadle, near Stockport.
This isn’t just your ordinary charity shop though- its a specialist vintage shop… but with charity shop prices. Winning all around so far…
Situated on Cheadle High Street, close to Barclays Bank is Barnardos Vintage Cheadle. It has a plethora of vintage stock including menswear, ladieswear, vintage homewares, vintage camera’s, crockery and glassware, along with retro sewing patterns, haberdashery and even vintage toys and games.
One of the best things about this shop is that it is ran and managed by a lovely lady called Emma- who happens to be a regular vintage trader at the famous Vintage Village in Stockport. So she obviously has the knowledge and the enthusiasm for the job and she tells me working in this particular branch of Barnardos is her dream job.
Here she is looking busy 😉
Emma has really taken on board the huge task of sorting through the vintage goods and displaying them in such a way which is accessible but also very easy on the eye. The stock turnover is fairly fast too especially with homewares. You could spend a good part of the day in here, and the prices are so reasonable that you are bound to come away with things for yourself and even for others.
I went in with eldest and littlest- and we game out with a vintage Barbie and a trinket box… I can also vouch 100% that this shop is buggy friendly!! *skips with joy* This fact alone would make me a regular in here… There are so many charity shops that are so awkward to manoeuvre around that I end up leaving without having actually looked at anything.
So if you are after a vintage fix mid week or dont have the chance to go to vintage fairs on the weekends then get yourself down here!
