Altrincham Vintage, Retro, Craft & Food Market!

Well another Vintage market to go bargain hunting!! This one is run by Magpies Markets – clicking will take you to their Facebook page.

It was a cold and rainy morning on Sunday but early bird always catches the worn and I didn’t let any weather put me off hunting for that perfect vintage item.

The market had lots of vintage stalls and was actually held in the main market area in Altrincham, sort of between Marks & Spencers and Altrincham hospital. I think they’d also changed it to free entry- perhaps as it was the first one?

Anyway onto my finds!! I’ve been after some clip on earring for a while but never seemed to find the ones that were “just right”, you know Mad Men inspired!! Well I found these two cuties! They were both from the same lady and I got them both for £6.

The Pièce de résistance though was this beautiful black and white spotty jacket or top!!

I tried it on and it was like it had been made to measure!! The fabric feels like a cotton but is quite substantial- hence it being called a jacket on the price tag- but I’ll wear it as a top with pencil skirts or high waisted jeans or trousers. I cant wait to wear it!!
It cost £25 which is a bit more than I’d usually spend but it was so perfect I felt it justified the price!
It was from the lovely Vicky and Wendy at The Vintage Boutique in Bowden- click here and be taken to their website- they also do Vintage parties where you and your friends can try on in your own front room!

I also purchased some local(ish) honey as its supposed to be great for hayfever- the more local the better and this honey was only a week old from Alderley Edge Apiaries, who are the actual beekeepers! Bargain at £3.

I also bought some fabulous vegetable samosas for lunch- obviously no picture as they’ve been scoffed!!

Overall a good morning out- a bit cold as although it’s undercover its open at the sides so did get a bit like a wind tunnel at times but there are lots of food stall goodies to keep you warm!!
If you are into vintage baskets then this is a must- there seemed to be loads and homeware too! There was even a pop up tearoom!

Looking forward to next month already!

My Mum has started eating local honey to combat her hayfever, and she is doing great so far. Hope it works for you too!
